There are so many ways to dive into genealogy. One of my absolute favorites is the Ancestry Library Learning Center. Within this you can access useful introductions on how to search the census, where to find military records, how to locate your immigrant ancestors - and so much more. It also has a little, often overlooked, tab that simply says MAPS. This tab will bring you into a map of the U.S. From there you can click into any state and access a very useful and very thorough research guide.
