Bite-Sized Genealogy Series Tip 2

Compiling Search Terms for Newspaper Research

As genealogists, we love the newspaper archives, but are we using them to the best of our abilities? If you go to newspapers as a tertiary step in your process — and if you go prepared — you’ll be able to squeeze more out of your newspaper searches.

Compile a list of search terms, make sure the list goes beyond names, and prepare for your list to change as more information becomes available.

If you enjoyed this post, please consider subscribing. The annual fee is $30.00 which is $2.50/month.

As always, thanks for being here. I’ll see you next time. Until then don’t forget to read, write, and track your dead.
